Wordless Wednesday: A Study of Queen Anne's Lace

  1. QAL is one of may favorite wild flowers. I think it is so beautiful with its lacy form. Insects seem to adore it also. The fields right now a buzzing with activity. I have to take some time when at the farm with my camera.

  5. Beautiful! We just got back from our vacation in Dahlonega. Such beautiful country!! I took pictures of MOSS because I was so amazed! We can't grow moss is 105 degrees for weeks on end. I was amazed at the katydids!!!! They were so noisy at night! Very cool looking, though. I'm sure it feels warm there to you after spending time in MI, but to us it felt much better than what we've got in TX. We are at Day 26 now of over 100 -- just 3 days away from breaking a record for the #2 spot of consecutive days over 100. The all-time record is 42 days in a row. No thanks!!

  6. That is so pretty! Another set to print, frame, and display on the wall. Queen Anne's Lace is a great cut flower, too.

  7. Thank you all for your lovely comments!

Donna/GWGT, QAL is growing all over the roadside in Michigan, fields of it. It is so beautiful. Often it is paired with another wildflower, chicory and the blue and white combination is stunning.

Toni, I am thrilled that you enjoyed your time in North Georgia. It really is pretty in the foothills. I am looking forward to seeing your moss pictures. There are so many varieties and it really is cool. We just returned from MI yesterday and it feels hotter but the heat wave followed us north and we had perfect summer weather. I am glad that you handled the humidity OK. I hope you get some rain soon! I remember those hot Texas summers (I lived in Austin)...they were brutal!
