If you have a moistish spot I would recommend adding some spigellia marilandica (shade), lots of phlox (sun). Adding flowering shrubs will help the beds fill out and add interest. A loropetalum would be an amazing background shrub, esp. if you planted spring bulbs in front. Happy gardening with all that space!Casa Mariposahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16647089868277238456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5335626764384885870.post-35624200515365916912011-06-21T21:30:57.321-04:002011-06-21T21:30:57.321-04:00Awesome journey! I would think it would need full blasting sun. With your acidic soil, you can do azaleas and hydrangeas, right? I have alkaline soil, so I'm not much help on plant suggestions. We are going to Dahlonega near the end of July. Can't wait!!! Any suggestions on where to go, what to see??Tonihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13862726143727717921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5335626764384885870.post-75347963901627174482011-06-19T20:57:30.938-04:002011-06-19T20:57:30.938-04:00That is a lot of garden space you are adding and a...That is a lot of garden space you are adding and a lot of work to do but it looks like it will be great.
Cher Sunray GardensSunray Gardenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06691531921190526219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5335626764384885870.post-64146211589069380312011-06-19T18:52:47.578-04:002011-06-19T18:52:47.578-04:00Wow, what an incredible amount of work. Somehow I thought that would be the easy part. Love all the rock work you're doing and the canopy created by those big trees. A very exciting time for you I'm sure.Margueritehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14377516887669269657noreply@blogger.com
