I've already seen them feeding on the spent flowers.Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00671760671850555664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5335626764384885870.post-59007461442001392682020-07-27T08:03:42.762-04:002020-07-27T08:03:42.762-04:00And hopefully you will see more goldfinches in you...And hopefully you will see more goldfinches in your garden next year!Karin / Southern Meadowshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06514989784715204223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5335626764384885870.post-71877228124275349112020-07-27T08:02:58.473-04:002020-07-27T08:02:58.473-04:00Sounds like you have good food sources for them bu...Sounds like you have good food sources for them but it's always good to have more. This is one of the reasons why I let my rudbeckia and other similar flowers reseed in my garden. The goldfinches are numerous! I will be adjusting my seed order in the spring to accommodate their needs. While I have many of the plants you mentioned, I don't think I have anywhere near enough & need to get more. I am already letting several lettuce plants go to seed, something I've done for a couple of years now so that I could collect the seed. I didn't know they were a Goldfinch seed source, but now that I do, I'll have to do more of that!Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15949946977793864054noreply@blogger.com
